Update meeting – 8.00 p.m. 23rd September 2015

All are welcome to the Chobham Neighbourhood Plan meeting at 8.00 p.m. on Wednesday 23rd September 2015 at the Parish Pavilion, Station Road, Chobham GU24 8AJ.   Come along and find out what the group is up to and air your ideas.

We have a list of projects which will become an appendice to the Chobham Neighbourhood plan.  These arise from the community consultation and comments on the website.

we would welcome anyone with a particular interest in a project to help out.

Where are we now – September 2014

Chobham is a vibrant and sustainable community and the aim of the Neighbourhood Plan is to ensure that it still will be in 2028. Any development should be encouraged to reflect the area’s local distinctiveness and protect its greenbelt status and its Conservation Area.

The Neighbourhood Plan team, known as the Chobplangroup, has been considering the many responses from the public engagement events in the village and is now ready to move forward with creating policies that help to protect the greenbelt and create a village design statement that enhances the special nature of our historic village.

Once these policies have been developed and approved by the Borough Council and examined by an Independent Inspector, a referendum will be held for the village to decide whether or not to adopt the Neighbourhood Plan. This will hopefully be summer 2015.

There is a working party to begin the design statement on 23rd September at 4 pm in the Parish Pavilion and any help would be most welcome.

Updates on the process and notice of further engagement events will be sent by email if you have given the group your email address. They will also be publicised at regular intervals over the coming months on noticeboards throughout the village, in the parish magazine, in the local press, on http://www.chobplangroup.com, http://www.chobham.net , ‘streetlife’ and on the ‘We Love Woking’ Facebook page (you do not have to have a Facebook account to be able to access this).

If you have any queries or would like your email to be added to the contact list please email chobplangroup@hotmail.com

Initial Community Engagement and Involvement

The initial engagement with Chobham residents by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group was a great success with more than 200 attending the “Have your Say” day last Saturday, 14th September 2013.   The group will now sort through the key issues and aims identified by this exercise to form an evidence base upon which there will be further consultation in the village.   It’s not too late to “Have your Say”  as you can post your ideas or views on www.chobplangroup.wordpress.com or by e-mail to chobplangroup@hotmail.com.

The group has the benefit of a grant from the Dept. of Communities and Local Government by way of financial and practical assistance.   If you have any planning skills that could be of benefit or would just like to help then please come forward as you will be most welcome.
